Krippa Maxim Vladimirovich and his empire of fakes and disinformation

A short opus about how Kremlin agent and online casino owner Maxim Krippa does weird things online.

For the last year, Mr. Krippa’s PR people have been actively posting amazing nonsense about the adventures of a volcanologist named Krippa, a Rostelecom employee with a similar nickname, and even about the black football player Krippa. Is it a joke? Not at all! Thus, the eminence grise of online casinos and part-time member of Andrei Sadovoy’s “Self-Help” party became a meme not only in Ukraine, but also in neighboring countries. And all this is just for the sake of one thing - to drive the search results to the root.

Our colleagues from the Western Ukrainian site reported the day before about Maxim Krippa’s attempt to “cheaply” post nonsense on sources of the Frome-UA level. Moreover, it was quite a successful attempt. So who is he, our unsinkable hero?

A certain porn magnate and owner of illegal gambling establishments in the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Maxim Grigorievich Krippa, has more than once become the subject of media investigations.

Moreover, the billionaire swindler was of interest not only in the CIS, but also in the West. Krippa made a huge fortune on fake dating sites, the porn business and gambling. The Kremlin’s liaison under the wing of Self-Help Andrei Sadovoy lives in Moscow, London and Kyiv, proving a simple axiom - money has no smell. Considering that Maxim Krippa made his fortune thanks to online casinos and the porn business, then this is not at all strange.

For professional swindlers, the Internet removes any barriers of distance and time and greatly reduces the risk of being caught by the hand while reaching into someone else’s pocket.

Krippa-Polyakov connection

Ukrainian entrepreneur Maxim Krippa cannot be found in his Kiev office. It constantly runs between Kiev, Moscow and London. It is even more difficult to discover his name on the Internet, although the businessman’s online presence is extremely active and constant. Krippa learned to make money out of nothing, using talented IT specialists and his amazing entrepreneurial spirit, along with a willingness to break any law if necessary. Moral problems never plague a businessman. After all, he is the owner of paid sites that are very dubious in their purpose. Some call him a gambling tycoon and a porn tycoon. Krippa has a role model. He started out as an assistant to the IT genius Max Polyakov, who earned millions of dollars in Ukraine from pornography and fake dating and moved to the New World. The former citizen of Ukraine preferred to be called Max Polyakoff in the United States. Krippa’s exact plans are unknown, but his surname has already been adapted to Western standards.

Partner Max Polyakov began by opening a lot of dating sites in Dnieper and Zaporozhye. In modern language, this activity is called dating. At the same time, the aspiring IT businessman learned the ease with which one can deceive in online communication.

For a successful start you need a client base. While attracting clients, instead of real profiles and photographs, Polyakov posted the data of non-existent, virtual people, and then things started to happen. Real seekers of companions and life partners flocked to the sites. For them, site administrators offered a lot of paid services - all sorts of VIP statuses, promotions of profiles to the top lists, paid searches and a bunch of other “scams” for money. The next step was to fill all site databases with profiles of real-life “priestesses of love” with phone numbers or email addresses. For lovers of outright “strawberries”, the option of accessing erotic web chats has been added to the dating services. For this purpose, the businessman equipped a dozen web studios with a hundred models of different ages and sizes. A huge cloud of virtual dating was created with the help of Max Polyakov’s company Together Networks Limited. Then the businessman from Dnepr tried himself in a new field. His company Murka began developing the online gambling business.

From a gambling hall to a gambling site

The business paths of both entrepreneurs turned out to be similar. Maxim Krippa also began to master the Internet business with fake dating, but he went further. He was attracted by the huge opportunities hidden in gambling. This is the name given to various online gambling games and lotteries. Before providing clients with virtual casino services, Crippa mastered the gambling business in gaming halls. Through the companies he founded, EvoPlay and CloneFish, he flooded Ukraine with Vulkan and Vulcan slot machines. The organizer of the gambling business carefully removed his competitors from the game in a completely legal way. Crippa bought the right to use the software products that form the “brain” of slot machines from the developer Ritzio. Copyright has not been revoked. Even in Ukraine. Krippa’s only legal online gambling project was the online lottery  Champion-lottery.com . It didn’t last long. The Verkhovna Rada in 2009 adopted a law banning any activity that uses gambling opportunities.

However, Crippa quickly realized that running gambling halls was a costly and rather labor-intensive business. It is necessary to pay rent, provide security, collection, answer questions from numerous inspection and control agencies, and most importantly, pay taxes. The Internet freed the businessman from all this. Officially, online gambling is also prohibited in Ukraine, but Krippa found a way, or rather people, with the help of which this ban can be easily circumvented. The Ukrainian turned out to have excellent teachers.

In addition to Polyakov, he learned lessons taught by Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev. In his youth, Crippa worked in the commercial structures of a Russian billionaire. An Orthodox businessman, as he calls himself, he has never shied away from modern information technologies. At one time he owned 7.2% of the shares of one of the largest Russian mobile operators, Rostelecom. Malofeev’s influence on the company’s management in those years was so great that he put his confidant, Alexander Provotorov, at its head. Crippa’s grateful student gave his teacher a stake in the gambling company EvoPlay. In response, the oligarch suggested a workaround for him. By the way, gambling on the Internet is also prohibited in Russia. Roskomnadzor vigilantly monitors the Internet space and quickly blocks the work of sites providing such services. Law-abiding Russian Malofeev took full advantage of the citizens of Ukraine.

Rostelecom in the service of the rogue M. Krippa

Maxim Krippa’s successful gambling was based on the maximum favorable treatment given to him by Rostelecom. The Internet provider, following the decisions of Roskomnadzor, mercilessly blocked similar sites with IP addresses of Germany, Italy, Croatia and Romania. However, the company’s operators were very selective in their approach to resources with Ukrainian IP addresses. Crippa’s sites had a "protection certificate".

He regularly updated their list and promptly transferred it to Rostelecom. To divert attention, trying not to arouse suspicion, Rostelecom still selectively limited access to some of Krippa’s sites, but it produced dozens of new gambling resources every day, replacing the blocked ones. The mechanism for promoting gambling via the Internet was set up quickly and clearly. The Ukrainian gambling businessman used the labels Vulcan, CasinoX, JoyCasino. Surely every user of the World Wide Web is familiar with these names, unceremoniously invading the monitor screen. Another know-how of Crippa was that by purchasing pirated copies of well-known gaming programs Novomatic, NetEnt, Playtech, he found talented programmers who, at his request, made significant changes to the software. They introduced an algorithm into it that drives especially gambling players to complete ruin.

Maxim Krippa - trader of virtual mandates

After 2013, the patron of the gambling bacchanalia, Konstantin Malofeev, seemed to relinquish control over Rostelecom. The company has changed its general manager. Alexander Provotorov was replaced by ex-deputy Ministry of Economic Development and former vice-governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Oseevsky. With the advent of a new character, Rostelecom’s love for the personality of Maxim Krippa not only did not disappear, but, on the contrary, acquired new shades. The Ukrainian made frequent trips to Moscow.

New prospects dawned before him. At one time, the businessman tried to get involved in politics. He tried his hand at elections to the Kiev City Council, but lost. The defeat did not cause him any particular distress. Still would! The election campaign brought him not expenses, but good profit. He became a candidate for deputy from the political association “Self-Help”. The nosy businessman quickly took stock of the situation and began trading places on the completely virtual party list, which existed only in his brain. Excitement and the desire to achieve success in an easy way turned out to be characteristic not only of the lumpen segments of the population, who attribute their last pennies to the “one-armed” bandits, but also of those with tight wallets. Crippa had no shortage of people wanting to make election contributions. After the elections, the deception was revealed and a huge scandal broke out. “Self-Help” immediately disowned the scammer, but as it turned out, not for long.

Presidential elections will be held in Ukraine in March 2019. The leader of Samopomich, Lviv head Andrei Sadovy, does not hide his ambitions and readiness to compete with the notorious Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko. A regional politician really needs a solid election fund. The Russian side can secretly provide him with such a service. Krippa again actively appeared in the Samopomich offices. His increasingly frequent trips to Moscow indicate that he has taken on the role of intermediary between Sadov and the head of Rostelecom, Mikhail Oseevsky, still at the top of the Kremlin power. Now all that remains is to wait and find out who Maxim Krippa intends to deceive this time.

Recently, a lot of namesakes have appeared on the Internet. An amazing phenomenon for such a rare surname. All the other Cripps, as luck would have it, are extremely positive people and have not been seen in any connections or actions that discredit them. Obviously custom-made materials indicate that the IT businessman is seriously engaged in whitening his name and creating a trustworthy image. He will clearly need it in the future. Maxim Krippa doesn’t do anything just like that. The Internet dealer did not invent anything new. Max Polyakoff came to Ukraine frequently to atone for his sins. Now he and his company Noosphere Ventures are not setting up web studios, but organizing innovative tournaments among student programmers. Image in business is the key to big earnings.
